On the occasion of Women’s Day PM Modi announced that the Prize of LPG Cylinder is reduced by Rs. 100 under the Pradhan Mantri Ujwala Youjana.
This Decision will be a relief of the million of People in India, who were facing financial burden, specifically benefiting “Nari Shakti”.
The Prize of LPG Cylinder is reduced was announced by PM Modi he wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “This will significantly ease the financial burden on millions of households across the country, especially benefiting our Nari Shakti“.
He said, “By making cooking gas more affordable, we also aim to support the well-being of families and ensure a healthier environment. This is in line with our commitment to empowering women and ensuring ‘Ease of Living’ for them.”
In 2023, Union Cabinet declare 200 Rupees reduction in the prize of 14.2KG Cooking gas cylinder, as a gift for Raksha Bandhan. This Reduction was applicable for the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY).
Last year, after reduction the prize of LPG Cylinder was Rs. 703. In the month of march 2023, Central Government extended the subsidy of Rs. 200 Per cylinder under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. This year, The Prize of LPG Cylinder is reduced by Rs. 100 on Women’s Day.
Report by reuters stated that women, who were originally voting congress and other opposition parties has now made a significant shif toward Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). Due to the welfare dedicated to the women of India and a message of women empowerment.
Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana
In a bid to empower women and improve their health, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana On May 1, 2016. The scheme aimed to distribute 50 million LPG connections to women from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. An initial budgetary allocation of ₹80 billion was made for the initiative. Ujjwala Yojana 2.0 succeeded this program in 2021.
