Collector said – speed boat operation will continue
Udaipur News: The administration seems to be fully prepared regarding Pichola, Fatehsagar and Badi Lake of the city. There are preparations to ban fishing in these three lakes. That means contractors will not be able to rear fish here.
Collector Arvind Kumar Poswal gave instructions for this to the officers in the meeting of the District Lake Conservation Committee on Monday. The Collector also expressed concern about migratory birds not coming to migrate due to fishing in the lakes. He took suggestions on the proposal to close fishing in all three lakes.
He took action to cancel the contract and also gave instructions to prepare a report to give compensation. On the other hand, the Collector has clearly said that for now speed boats will continue to operate in the city’s lakes. He said that from the point of view of tourism, speed boat is used. Operation is necessary.
A committee of experts will be formed and a report will be prepared after studying the impacts on the lakes. Further decision will be taken only after the report comes. At present 63 boats are operating in Pichola and 27 in Fateh Sagar. There are 10 speed boats among them. UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain, Corporation Commissioner Ramprakash, DFO Ajay Chittaura and members of the Lake Conservation Committee were present in the meeting.
